It is a kind of fatty tissue located under the skin between our skin and muscle. It is preferred to inject insulin in the fatty tissues because these tissues absorb insulin quickly and enhances the chances of getting a right dosage. Therefore, they must be injected into fatty tissues besides muscles as it might hinder the performance of insulin. Steps to follow while using insulin pen There are necessary steps to be followed before using insulin pen 1. You need to wash our hands and choose a hygienic place for injecting insulin. 2. You need to be sure of the kind of insulin you are prescribed to take. 3. You need to check whether insulin is clear or cloudy, if cloudy you need to rub it between your palms for 1 minute to make it clear. Shaking of insulin pen must be avoided 4. You need to get alcohol wipes and disposable needles 5. Insert the needle into the cartridge carefully by removing its paper tab.
